Eagles - Year 4, 5 & 6

Welcome to the Eagles class!

In Eagles class we work together as a team to ensure we all reach our full potential in a calm and positive classroom.

We are always striving to be the very best versions of ourselves that we can be. We are kind, caring and most of all determined! Determined to do well and help others around us do the same.

As the oldest children in the school, we enjoy taking on responsibilities and acting as role models to the younger children. We have the opportunity to be House captains and sports captains, and a member of the school council.

Our classroom is bright and airy, with a kitchen area where we enjoy working on our Design Technology. Our cosy reading area is well equipped with fiction and non-fiction books. In our own garden, we have picnic benches to eat our lunches at and beds where we grow both flowers and vegetables, which we raise from seeds in our poly-tunnel.

We have decided, along with other schools in our Trust, to have school dogs, Valley and Coco. As part of the on-going provision for wellbeing and mental health, our lovely dogs will visit our school on a regular basis each week as part of on-going provision for wellbeing and mental health.  Coco lives with Mrs Neale, our headteacher and comes into the Magpies class and Valentine lives with Mrs Jones.   For more information please see our wellbeing page here.
Our Learning

In Eagles, technology is an integral part of our learning, aiding our developing independence. We follow the White Rose maths scheme, and our fluency skills in maths are supported by using Maths Shed, Sumdog and TT Rock Stars.

Each term we have a new Humanities topic, which links to our literacy through a class reading book and genre work. Our reading is also supported by the Accelerated Reader programme, which helps to develop our comprehension skills.

In our topic work we collaboratively produce a ‘Big Book’, which answers questions through research, examining artefacts and field trips where appropriate.
